A2 English Reading – Short Story & Vocabulary Quiz
It was a cold morning when the class left for their school trip. Jenny had a runny nose and a sore throat, but she didn’t tell anyone. “It won’t take long, and I don’t want to miss it,” she thought.
At the museum, Jenny started coughing. Her teacher noticed and said, “You should rest. You may get sick.”Her best friend Sam sat with her. “Don’t worry, I’ll share my water and snack,” he said, offering her a pear. The teacher brought a nurse who checked Jenny. “You probably caught a cold,” she said. “The best solution is to go home and drink warm tea.”On the way home, Jenny looked out the window. A bird landed on a tree, and snow covered the ground. She smiled. “Next time, I’ll tell someone when I don’t feel well.”
The trip was short, but Jenny didn’t mind. She was already feeling better. And thanks to Sam, the day didn’t feel too boring after all.
