It was Saturday morning. Lily was home alone, and she had a big responsibility: the housework. Her mom had asked her to do her best. “I must finish everything before lunch,” she thought.
First, she cleaned the kitchen. She wiped the table down and washed the dishes. Then, she moved to the living room. She picked up several toys and put them in a box. She was working carefully to avoid any damage.
Later, she decided to help her dad. His old vehicle was outside, and it needed cleaning. She carried a bucket of water and a sponge. Cleaning cars was not her favorite skill, but she wanted to help.
Suddenly, it started to rain heavily. Lily quickly ran to the small shelter near the garage. The rain was falling hard on the roof of the shelter. She waited there for a few minutes. When the rain stopped, she went back to the vehicle. It was now clean! The rain had done half of her work. Lily smiled. It was a happy surprise.
