A2 English Reading – Short Story & Grammar Quiz
Emma and Jack love adventure! They decided to go to a far-off country and see an old forest temple. They had to take a plane and arrived after a long trip. The temple may have old pictures with secrets. Before they could go in, they needed to wear strong boots and had to take water. They didn’t have to go fast, because the temple would close only when the sun went down.
As they walked, Jack slipped on a wet rock. His leg was hurt. Emma had to use her belt to help his leg so he could walk slowly. She stayed calm. Soon, they heard a noise: a hungry bear must be near! They should walk away quietly and climb a tree. They saw the bear leave after it smelled some water.
Finally, they reached the temple. They felt proud because they reached their goal. Later, they would tell their friends the story. They knew their good trip would make other people want to explore too.
