Last Saturday, Lily woke up early. She went to the door to get the newspaper, but it was not there.
She looked under the table, behind the plant, and next to the mat. Then she checked on the chair and in her bag — nothing! Suddenly, she heard a noise. Her mum was cleaning the windows with something. It was the newspaper! “Oh no, Mum!” she said. “Sorry, dear! I thought it was old”, Mum said. The newspaper was dirty and torn now.
Later, her neighbor Anna came to visit. She stood at the door with a new paper in her hand. “That’s so nice of you,” Lily said. They sat on the balcony and talked about the news. It was a quiet, pretty morning.
